When Charles and Beth went home, their children were not asleep. They waited for Charles and Beth to return. They were excited to hear about the theatre! Charles told the children about the play. How to tell a story?
One day a crow was feeling very thirsty. On a hot summer day, He flew here and there in search of water. He continued to search hard but couldn’t find any water to quench his thirst. Then after a long time, he found a pitcher, with a little water in it.
The neck of the pitcher was too long and the water level too low. The crow could not reach the water with his beak. He saw many pebbles around. Suddenly, the crow got an idea. He picked the pebbles one by one and dropped them in the pitcher. The level of water slowly rose to the top. The crow drank the water, and quench his thirst. he was very happy.
प्यासा कौआ
एक दिन एक कौवे को बहुत प्यास लग रही थी। गर्मी के एक दिन में, वह पानी की तलाश में इधर-उधर उड़ गया। वह काफी खोजबीन करता रहा लेकिन उसे अपनी प्यास बुझाने के लिए पानी नहीं मिला। फिर बहुत देर के बाद उसे एक घड़ा मिला, जिसमें थोड़ा सा पानी था।
घड़े की गर्दन बहुत लंबी थी और पानी का स्तर बहुत कम। कौआ अपनी चोंच से पानी तक नहीं पहुंच सका। उसने आसपास कई कंकड़ देखे। अचानक कौए को एक तरकीब सूझी। उसने एक-एक करके कंकड़ उठाए और उन्हें घड़े में गिरा दिया। पानी का स्तर धीरे-धीरे ऊपर की ओर बढ़ा। कौवे ने पानी पिया और अपनी प्यास बुझाई। वह बहुत खुश है।
Union is Strength
Once, an old man was very ill and lay dying in his bed. He had four sons who were always fighting with each other. He always worried about them and wanted to teach them a lesson and asked his sons to come to him. When they came, the old man gave them a bundle of sticks and said, “Can you break these sticks?”
The first son tried to break the bundle but nothing happened. He tried very hard and finally gave up. Then it was the turn of the second son to try his luck. He thought it would be an easy task and picked up the sticks easily.
He tried his best to break the sticks but nothing happened. Then, the third son tried to break the bundle of sticks, but he couldn’t do anything either.
Meanwhile, the youngest son jeered at his brothers and thought they were very incompetent. He thought he was very clever and took one stick at a time and easily broke all of them.
The old father then smiled at his sons and said, “Children, do you understand what happened? It is always easy to break the sticks one by one. But when they are bundled together, none of you could break them.
In the same way. you four brothers should always be together. No one will be able to hurt you then.” The four brothers realized what their father was trying to teach them and forgot all their enmity and learnt that unity is strength.
From that day onwards, they never fought with each other and lived together in peace and harmony.
एक और एक ग्यारह :-
एक बार, एक बूढ़ा व्यक्ति बहुत बीमार था और अपने बिस्तर पर पड़ा मर रहा था। उसके चार बेटे थे जो हमेशा आपस में लड़ते रहते थे। वह हमेशा उनकी चिंता करता था और उन्हें सबक सिखाना चाहता था और उसने अपने बेटों को अपने पास आने को कहा। जब वे आए तो बूढ़े ने उन्हें लकड़ियों का एक गट्ठर दिया और कहा, “क्या तुम इन लकड़ियों को तोड़ सकते हो?”
पहले बेटे ने गठरी तोड़ने की कोशिश की लेकिन कुछ नहीं हुआ। उसने बहुत कोशिश की और अंत में हार मान ली। फिर दूसरे बेटे की किस्मत आजमाने की बारी आई। उसने सोचा कि यह आसान काम होगा और आसानी से लाठी उठा ली।
उसने डंडे तोड़ने की पूरी कोशिश की लेकिन कुछ नहीं हुआ। फिर तीसरे बेटे ने लकड़ियों के गट्ठर को तोड़ने की कोशिश की, लेकिन वह भी कुछ नहीं कर सका।
इस बीच, सबसे छोटे बेटे ने अपने भाइयों का मज़ाक उड़ाया और सोचा कि वे बहुत अक्षम हैं। उसने सोचा कि वह बहुत चालाक है और उसने एक बार में एक छड़ी ली और आसानी से उन सभी को तोड़ दिया।
बूढ़ा पिता फिर अपने बेटों को देखकर मुस्कुराया और कहा, “बच्चों, क्या तुम समझे कि क्या हुआ? स्टिक्स को एक-एक करके तोड़ना हमेशा आसान होता है। परन्तु जब वे एक साथ बँधे हुए हैं, तो तुम में से कोई उन्हें तोड़ नहीं सकता।
उसी तरह से। तुम चारों भाई सदा साथ रहो। तब तुम्हें कोई हानि नहीं पहुँचा सकेगा।” चारों भाइयों ने महसूस किया कि उनके पिता उन्हें क्या सिखाने की कोशिश कर रहे थे और अपनी सारी दुश्मनी भूल गए और सीखा कि एकता में ताकत होती है।
उस दिन के बाद से वे आपस में कभी नहीं लड़े और शांति और सद्भाव से एक साथ रहने लगे।
The Golden egg :-
Once, a farmer lived in a village. He was very poor. His income was very small. He passed his days with difficulty. One day, someone gave him a hen. It gave a golden egg every day.
He sold the egg every day. Soon he became a rich man. All began to respect him in the village. He became greedy. He thought that inside the hen there must be a storehouse of golden eggs. He should get them in a day.
Then he would be the richest man in the village. He took a knife and cut the stomach of the hen. He did not get even a single egg. He lost not only the golden eggs but the hen also.
Moral – We should not be greedy……..
सोने का अंडा :-
एक बार एक गाँव में एक किसान रहता था। वह बहुत गरीब था। उनकी आय बहुत कम थी। बड़ी मुश्किल से उसके दिन कटते थे। एक दिन किसी ने उसे एक मुर्गी दी। वह रोज एक सोने का अंडा देती थी।
वह रोज अंडा बेचता था। जल्द ही वह एक अमीर आदमी बन गया। गाँव में सब उसका आदर करने लगे। वह लालची हो गया। उसने सोचा कि मुर्गी के भीतर अवश्य ही सोने के अण्डों का भंडार होगा। उसे उन्हें एक दिन में प्राप्त करना चाहिए।
तब वह गांव का सबसे धनी व्यक्ति होता। उसने चाकू लिया और मुर्गे का पेट काट दिया। उसे एक अंडा भी नहीं मिला। उसने सोने के अंडे ही नहीं बल्कि मुर्गी को भी खो दिया।
Moral – हमें लालची नहीं होना चाहिए……..
The Rabbit and the Turtle:-
One day a rabbit was boasting about how fast he could run. He was laughing at the turtle for being so slow. Much to the rabbit’s surprise, the turtle challenged him to a race. The rabbit thought this was a good joke and accepted the challenge. The fox was to be the umpire of the race. As the race began, the rabbit raced way ahead of the turtle, just like everyone thought. The rabbit got to the halfway point and could not see the turtle anywhere. He was hot and tired and decided to stop and take a short nap. `
Even if the turtle passed him, he would be able to race to the finish line ahead of him. All this time the turtle kept walking step by step by step. He never quit no matter how hot or tired he got. He just kept going.
However, the rabbit slept longer than he had thought and woke up. He could not see the turtle anywhere! He went at full-speed to the finish line but found the turtle there waiting for him.
Moral: never underestimate the weakest opponent.
खरगोश और कछुआ :-
एक दिन एक खरगोश शेखी बघार रहा था कि वह कितनी तेजी से दौड़ सकता है। वह कछुए के इतने धीमे होने पर हंस रहा था। खरगोश के आश्चर्य से ज्यादा, कछुए ने उसे एक दौड़ के लिए चुनौती दी। खरगोश ने सोचा कि यह एक अच्छा मजाक है और उसने चुनौती स्वीकार कर ली। लोमड़ी को दौड़ का अंपायर बनना था। जैसे ही दौड़ शुरू हुई, खरगोश कछुए से आगे निकल गया, ठीक वैसे ही जैसे सभी ने सोचा था। खरगोश आधे रास्ते पर पहुंच गया और उसे कछुआ कहीं दिखाई नहीं दिया। वह गर्म और थका हुआ था और उसने रुकने और एक छोटी झपकी लेने का फैसला किया। `
यहां तक कि अगर कछुआ उसके पास से गुजर जाता है, तो वह दौड़ में उससे आगे फिनिश लाइन तक पहुंच जाएगा। इस पूरे समय में कछुआ कदम से कदम मिलाकर चलता रहा। चाहे वह कितना भी गर्म या थका हुआ क्यों न हो उसने कभी हार नहीं मानी। वह बस चलता रहा।
